Soulveil Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Soulveil.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary for the functioning and improvement of our services:

• Session and account data: Firebase creates a user ID for app access. Anonymous users receive an anonymous Firebase ID; when you sign in with Google, we use your Google account name, email address, profile picture, provider ID, and Firebase UID to create or link your Soulveil account. We never receive your Google password, and we do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or other Google account content.
• Story interactions: Your messages and AI responses within story sessions are stored on our servers to maintain story continuity.
• Feedback: If you submit feedback on AI responses, we store the feedback type, message ID, and any text you provide.
• Error reporting: Anonymized error data to help us identify and fix issues.
• Usage analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as screen views and feature usage. We do not collect the content of your messages or AI responses through analytics.
• Session replay and interaction analytics: We use Microsoft Clarity to capture app interaction data such as screen visits, taps, behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. We use this data to understand how users navigate Soulveil, identify usability issues, improve stability, and optimize the product. Chat inputs, user messages, AI replies, and long-form creation text are configured to be masked or paused where appropriate.

2. Purpose of Data Collection

The collected data is used to:

• Provide and improve the interactive storytelling experience
• Maintain story session continuity
• Authenticate your account, link your profile, drafts, published works, settings, likes, and other account features across sessions
• Support account security, abuse prevention, and service integrity
• Enhance functionality and stability by addressing technical issues
• Understand navigation patterns and interaction friction through session replay and heatmap analysis

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers that help operate, authenticate, analyze, and improve Soulveil, including AI model providers, Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity. We do not use Google account data for advertising, and we do not transfer or sell it to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. Anonymized, aggregated data may be used internally for service improvement.

4. Third-Party Services

We use AI model providers to generate story content and images. These providers process your story inputs solely to return AI responses. We use Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication to authenticate users and link accounts; Firebase Authentication may process account identifiers, email addresses, user agents, and IP addresses as part of authentication. We use Firebase Analytics for usage tracking; it collects device and behavioral data under Google's privacy policy. We use Microsoft Clarity to capture behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay for product improvement, usability analysis, security, and fraud prevention. 5. Data Retention

• Active story sessions are kept in memory and automatically cleared after 30 minutes of inactivity.
• Session history stored in our database is retained for service continuity.
• Account data linked to your Firebase UID or Google sign-in is retained while your account is active so we can provide profile, creation, library, and account features.
• Feedback data is retained for service improvement purposes.
• You may disconnect Soulveil from your Google Account through your Google Account settings, but this does not automatically delete data already stored by Soulveil. You may request deletion of your Soulveil account and associated data at any time from the Privacy Policy screen by tapping Request account deletion, or by contacting us. We may retain limited records when required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.

Request account deletion

This section is the public web path for requesting deletion of your Soulveil account and the data associated with that account. In the app, you can also open the Privacy Policy screen and tap Request account deletion.

1. Send a deletion request to contact.soulveil@soulveil.online. Use the email address linked to your Soulveil account when possible.
2. Include your Soulveil account email, Google sign-in email, or Firebase UID if you know it. Also tell us whether you want full account deletion or deletion of specific data.
3. We will verify account ownership before deleting data. After verification, we will delete or de-identify your account identifiers, profile data, story sessions, feedback, creator content, and associated files tied to your Soulveil account, unless limited retention is required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.
4. Backups and logs may take additional time to age out of our systems, but they will not be used to restore your deleted account.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectify, or delete any data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, please contact us.

8. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that may affect your personal data, we will notify affected users promptly and take appropriate measures to mitigate the impact.

9. Policy Changes

Any changes to this privacy policy will be posted on this page. We encourage users to regularly review our policy.
